How I Would Have Done The DC Universe Part 7: Justice League

We have introduced all the central characters of the Justice League in my expanded universe and produced eight movies. Now is the time to bring all the characters together. Yes, that means it is time to bring the Justice League together for their own movie and this will happen in November 2016.

The characters that we will use for this movie include Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Barry Allen the Flash, Hal Jordan and the Martian Manhunter. I will also bring back key supporting characters like Lois Lane, Iris West, Alfred Pennyworth, Carol Ferris and Hippolyta. All the actors from the previous movies would reprise their roles. I would have cast Tom Hardy as Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman. He has the acting chops and looks the part from the comic which is what we are drawing from.

The villain I would use for this movie would be Brainiac. For that iconic role, I would cast Jude Law. I would bring back Mark Strong as Lex Luthor because he plays a minor role in Brainiac coming to Earth.

This storyline would follow the tease from the last DC movie where we saw Brainiac. The villain is a collector of information and a destroyer of worlds and plans to do that to Earth. The AI’s first plan is to take down Superman, the perceived biggest threat. To do this, Brainiac sends agents across the world to attack cities, distracting the Man of Steel. It is causing chaos throughout the world and it is stretching Superman thin.

The next part of the story heads to Gotham City where the Batman is investigating a break-in at a warehouse late at night. To his shock and dismay, the thieves turn out to be cyborgs and he is out of his league, despite his training. The Martian Manhunter appears out of nowhere to save Batman from these cyborgs and explains the situation and what is happening with Superman. He tells Batman a mysterious enemy is invading and attempting to overthrow the Earth.

Batman and the Martian Manhunter head to Metropolis, where Superman has returned, attempting to keep the city from falling apart. Batman and Superman meet for the first time and now they have to go after the cyborgs who are drawing them toward the water. As this happens, Aquaman appears from below the water to aid them and introduces himself. There is a tense confrontation between the Man of Steel and the king of the ocean.

In Themiscyra, the Amazons are under attack by Brainiac’s forces and timely intervention by their Amazonian Princess, Diana, helps them fend off the attack. Diana and Hippolyta discuss what is happening in man’s world, and she sets off to help.

In Central City, the Flash is doing battle with a villain called Multiplex and can thwart him thanks to the help of Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern. The Flash and Green Lantern instantly bond, and then they do battle with a cyborg controlled by Brainiac. After defeating the cyborg, the two realize that this is beyond them as they see the chaos unfolding on the news.

Meanwhile, Lex Luthor has been watching this all unfold and attempting to figure out who was the source of this chaos. Brainiac appears and introduces himself to Luthor, claiming that he plans to rid humanity of their lives. Luthor bargains for his life and offers him Superman, to which Brainiac agrees.

Superman, Batman, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter gather back in Metropolis when they encounter the Green Lantern, the Flash and Wonder Woman, and this alien force has brought them all together.

Brainiac finally unleashes a full-on assault upon Metropolis. While this is happening, Luthor unleashes a trap for Superman with a Kryptonite-induced attack on the Man of Steel. Because of this, Brainiac captures the Man of Steel and brings him onto his ship, leaving the rest of the heroes alone to fight his forces.

On Brainiac’s ship, Superman has a brilliant scene with Brainiac where the villain explains his actions and his aspirations. Brainiac tells Kal-El that he once attempted to capture and destroy Krypton, but Jor-El thwarted him. When he realized that the man’s son was on Earth, he knew he had to come to Earth since he no longer had the opportunity to get back at Krypton.

Back in Metropolis, the rest of the team attempt to fight Brainiac’s forces and soon Batman plans. Working with the Martian Manhunter, Batman infiltrates the ship. He uses his technical devices to get past Brainiac’s defenses, and he and the Manhunter eventually free Superman from Brainiac’s restraints.

On the ground, the Green Lantern, the Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman finally team up and establish cohesiveness and turn things around, finally defeating Brainiac’s cyborgs.

On Brainiac’s ship, an ultimate battle ensues between Superman and Brainiac while Batman and the Martian Manhunter fend off the forces. Finally, Superman gets the upper hand and destroys Brainiac’s body, causing the ship to malfunction because of the host losing power. The ship will explode within minutes. Superman gets Batman and the Martian Manhunter out safely and then pushes Brainiac’s ship up toward space where it explodes.

With Brainiac’s ship finally exploding, all his cyborgs die off and the Earth is safe. The heroes reunite on the ground and access the devastation. Together, they help rebuild the cities damaged by Brainiac’s attacks.

The movie ends with the team finally acknowledging that they are a team and they deem themselves the Justice League. Luthor goes to jail for his crimes.

Everyone takes off back to their hometowns or in Diana’s case, their island, with the promise of coming together if they need to again.

In a mid-credits scene, we see a mysterious fire planet where there are sounds of screaming. A mysterious cloaked figure walks up to someone and begins telling them about the failed invasion attack on Earth and how they should take a shot at them, especially if they want to take claim to the world governed by Superman. The camera pans over and we see who the figure who is Desaad is talking to. The figure is Darkseid who reveals that he has his eyes on the Earth and to send forces there to infiltrate the humans.
